If you are to love

by Zainab K., Age 15 , Grade 7, Easton Middle School, Easton, MARYLAND USA

If you are to love If you are to love Love as the moon loves; It doesn't steal the night But unveils the beauty of the dark. Your blue eyes are like the blue moon, Your long black hair like the long black night. You're beautiful. If you are to love Love as the moon loves When it shows the beauty of the trees in the darkness. You are as beautiful as the moon over the trees, But why did you leave me in the dark. The moon also leaves us in the dark. And in this darkness, I saw you with him. You were holding his hand. Please Please Please return to me Like the moon returns to light the darkness. My heart is beating like the leaves of the tree As they fall in the darkness. If you are to love Love as the moon loves When it returns to lighten the darkness. I loved you when you left me. I am sorry. I want you back. I want you to lighten this darkness.
