Earth

by Colin S., Age 13 , Grade 7, MARYLAND

Oh Earth With your flowing oceans and howling winds With your green forests and desert plains How you harbor us from the Sun's terrible reign And give us this home that is so great I'm sorry Earth that we've treated you this way Taking your oil and ruining your atmosphere every single day I truly wish that I could persuade All of your citizens to stop burning away All of your precious resources Because what they don't know is that you are starting to fade And that all of your beauty has started it's decay If only there was a balance and we could delay The end of both of our days I hope that we slow this pace and I can see What a beauty you are from outer space
