Ginger Pye by Eleanor Estes

by Matthew S., Age 14 , Helena, ALABAMA USA

Ginger Pye, by Eleanor Estes, was copyrighted in 1951.

The Pye Family – Papa, Mama, Jerry, Rachel and Gracie-the-cat – have just added a new member to the family.  Ginger, a puppy.  Everyone is happy until Thanksgiving Day, when Ginger is dognapped!  Follow Jerry and Rachel, and their Uncle Bennie (who is three years old!), track down an unsavory character to find their beloved dog.

I recommend this book to kids ages 5-15.
It is a very funny, fun, outrageous book with great characters.
