Poetry

What I hear

by Fiona T., Age 11 , Grade 6, Laramie Middle School, Laramie, WYOMING USA
Teacher: Ms. Wood

Darkness clouds my vision from my shut eyelids.
The wind quiet at frist now roars in my ear at the sudden silence.
Shuffling like a thousand tiny mice shifting and scratching, comes from my classmates.
A murmer growing steadily louder from peers far away.
The slow steady heaves and sighs of many minds buzzing with ideas.
Footsteps echo through the libary bouncing and ricketing off the sloped ceiling.
My own voice and thoughts as I try to listen and brainstorm, and failing to do so.
