Faded Memories

by Chesley P, Age 14 , Grade 8, Morgan County Middle School, Madison, GEORGIA USA
Teacher: Luke McFarland

Muddy shoes glide through golden rays of sun

That stretch to kiss the cheeks of a small girl

Who swings back and forth having lots of fun

The wind slips through each of her perfect curls

She throws up her hands and lets out a squeal

That follows her down and cushions the thud

Letting her father know she broke the deal

Memories pour out and swim in her blood.

Her eyes flutter shut and smile slips away

Her mom rushed in to sitch her to safety

Her pulse beats strong saying she is okay

She slowly sits up, not acting hasty

She didn't have to go to emory

Now it is just a faded memory
