The struggles of a Disabled Life

by Liv A., Age 12 , Grade 6, St.Francis of Assisi, Louisville , KENTUCKY USA

Being disabled,

One of the hardest struggles a human could think of having.

I myself don’t have a disability but,

My eyes have seen the struggles.

They are bullied because they may look or talk differently than the rest of us.

But they are really just like you and I,

Living in this crazy world we call home.

Some people plainly ignore them.

They think that if they try to talk to them they won’t understand,

So they don’t even bother to try.

They are teased,

taunted,

For no good reason at all.

But after someone bullies a disabled person they think,

”They don’t gen have feelings so it doesn’t even matter.”

But I guess they don’t understand that everyone has feelings.

Big,small,short,tall.

We all have feelings.

I know people with a disability that are smarter than you and I could ever dream of being.

Its true, it really is.

And remember this phrase too.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

“EVER...”
