Friends
Friends are the people you lean on when you are
Sad because you are being called names,
The people you call when you are confused
About all the things people have said about you,
The people you cry into
Because you don’t understand what you did wrong,
And they say you did nothing wrong
Because you are perfect just the way you are,
The people you trust enough to show all your scars
From the hallway bullies when you are just trying to get to class.
Friends are your second family,
You don’t hide anything from them because you are both only twelve
And can’t do anything about anything,
You can’t do anything except hope,
Hope that you can just make it through the day,
But then you start the day over again tomorrow,
And it is the same thing each day.
Friends will always help up when you trip and fall,
Don’t lose your friends because then
You will melt into a puddle of nothingness,
Because they were the ones
Who held you up when you were falling,
They kept you steady,
If you don’t acknowledge them now
Acknowledge them tomorrow and the
Days to come after that.
