Ode to the orioles

The Charm City Birds

In spring my birds return home to begin their play.

Games are in the cold of night and some during the heat of day.

The birds are led by a man named Buck,

Chris Davis at first is as big as a truck.

Manny Machado is as fast as lightning,

Zach Britton’s sinker is very frightening

The stadium booms, crashes, and smacks

Caleb Joseph cracks bats because that’s his knack

At second Schoop’s stupendously scoops

Ryan Flaherty always dives and swoop

Mark Trumbo has a really hot bat.

His dingers go way past Pratt

Adam Jones never misses a catch

He can always make the great snatch

Chris Tillman’s fastball is always quick

Paul Janish makes the ball go Klick

There is nothing better than a hot sunny day.

Besides watching my birds play
