Dear Grandfather,

By: Rachel Lapp

Dear Grandfather,

With all those memories of you,

Smiling helping everyone out…

Even me.

Dear Grandfather,

Motivating me to do my very best

Telling me I did great (even though I didn’t do that well)

Telling me…

don’t let them get to me

Dear Grandfather,

Now I keep those memories in my heart.

Pushing myself with the memory of you.

Ignoring those who try to get to me,

Not letting anyone shut me down.

Doing my very best,

All Day, Every Day

Dear Grandfather,

Now you’re gone

Gone like many others

With the unwelcome presence of cancer

Gone Forever

Never coming back

Dear Grandfather.
