The Things I Love

by Natalie B., Age 13 , Grade 7, Nipher Middle School, Kirkwood, MISSOURI USA
Teacher: Christie White

I love the summer days
in the yard
and the winter nights
on the trampoline
when the fire pit
feels almost as warm as
laying in the bed
with my favorite pup
I love the wagon
that was our car
it was almost as red as
me and my sisters
favorite container of red glitter
I love the cloths by the door
on a snow day
that are almost as wet as
the floor always is
when we spill Lizzie's water bowl
I love the Nerf gun fights
with my family
that hurt almost as much as
all the pinching I get
when we try
to take pictures together
I love when I was the first one
to say "napkin check!"
at the dinner table
that felt almost as amazing as
spending time with my family
