Were I'm From

by Sofia C., Age 12 , Grade 7, South East Junior High, Iowa City, IOWA USA
Teacher: Mr.Keller Wilson

I am from Outshine popsicles on the front steps.

From the juice running down my arm and the sticky hands and mouths.

From the sweet, tangy, artificial orange flavoring.

I am from The Iowa City Fencing Center.

From the clang of Knight reels on the metal strips and the metal against metal sound of the weapons hitting each other.

From the rubber smell of the strips and the slight chemical smell of the wepon unrusters.

I am from dark nights outside of my house on Guilford Ct.

From a sky of bright stars and crickets chirping.

From the damp,green grass.

I am from cold winters and hot summers.

From snow forts and Jay and I frying eggs on hot, sun exposed cars.

From bright white snow and steaming concrete.

I am from the huge elm tree in the middle of Guilford court.

From the temporary tree house in its staircase branches.

From some random woman requesting it down and it falling, falling with a crack and then thump.
